There are multiple ways to access the trail including the main entrance at 6235 La Salle Ave. in Montclair Village, Oakland, CA (see map below). The trail is open from 6am-9pm.

Mostly paved, the trail is multi-use for pedestrians, bicyclists, joggers, strollers and people with pets. To ensure the experience is enjoyable for all, please pay attention to signage along the way.

Dogs on leash are welcome. We ask that you leave the trail as you found it. Take any trash back out with you, or use one of the available garbage cans.

As a City of Oakland park, dogs must be on leash to reduce conflicts and injury for people and pets. Dog waste (even if off trail) is a problem for the local ecology and for volunteers working on the trail. Please pick up each and every time.  more

This is a natural conservation area embedded in a neighborhood. Fires, smoking and motorized vehicles are not allowed. Stay aware of your surroundings­—you may not hear bicylists trying to pass or other potential hazards.

Bicyclists please yield to pedestrians and call out to give them time to react. Slow and pass with caution. E-bikes rated over 20mph and gas-powered motorized vehicles are prohibited.
