Montclair Village is off Hwy 13 in Oakland between the Park Blvd. and Moraga Ave. exits. See map below for entrance and parking options.

rules and etiquette
As a City of Oakland park, dogs must be on leash to reduce conflicts and injury for people and pets. Dog waste (even if off trail) is a problem for the local ecology and for volunteers working on the trail. Please pick up each and every time.  more

This is a natural conservation area embedded in a neighborhood. Fires, smoking and motorized vehicles are not allowed. Stay aware of your surroundings—you may not hear bicylists trying to pass or other potential hazards.

Bicyclists please yield to pedestrians and call out to give them time to react. Slow and pass with caution. E-bikes rated over 20mph and gas-powered motorized vehicles are prohibited.

Go up stairs to right of 1900 Mountain Blvd. Keep right onto the unpaved part of the trail. Metered street parking is on Mountain Blvd.

Medau Pl.
At cul de sac at 6211 Medau Place, go up ramp on left. Limited street parking and at pay-station parking lot.

Cortereal Ave.

La Salle Ave.
At cul de sac at 6235 La Salle Ave., go up to trail by taking the stairs or the ramp. Pay parking and EV charging stations at Montclair Village parking garage. Park free on Sundays.

Snake Rd.
Take one of two access trails alongside bridge. Limited street parking along Snake Rd.

Shepherd Canyon Rd.
Go up access trail from parking area at 5921 Shepherd Canyon Rd. Limited parking at Corp Yard, off Shepherd Canyon Rd., across from the fire station.
